Isn't it cool to have a Game Career Fair here other than the normal Education/Career Fair thats been held like two to three times a year ? Well, dont expect that to happen in Malaysia but some part of this world have that kind of event. For example, the London Game Career Fair thats gonna be held at London on 23rd and 24th of October. The exact location for it (this is for those who are interested to attend the fair) is at the Old Truman Brewery which is just 10 minutes walk from Liverpool street station (on the Circle, Hammersmith & City, and Metropolitan lines), and is easily reached by tube, bus or on foot. Among the sponsors for the fair is Electronic Arts (FIFA series, The Sims series) and Rockstar (Grand Theft Auto Series). Some of the exhibitors that participate in this fair is LucasArts, NCsoft, SEGA, and Team17. For more info about this event, you can click here. Below is the banner for the event.

" Simple but meaningful banner "

From their website, this fair is just the same like any other career/education fair except that it is related to games. Expect leading games industry professionals and representatives of prominent colleagues and universities to be there. It is the place to be if you are interested in gaming professions, whether you've graduated or left school, or work in a related technology or entertainment industry.

" Instead of studying with books and papers "

" You could be studying with the Playstation 3 "

Theres more than that, apparently, the Game Career Fair is one of the side event for the London Games Festival. How I wish Malaysia could have something like this. The Festival will feature a series of diverse events in different venues for different audiences. Whether you’re a gamer, a parent needing advice on games, someone working in the industry, or someone wanting to find out more about how games work and where the future of entertainment will take us, this is a festival for you.

This event is supported by London Development Agency and some of their partners is British Academy Video Games Award (BAFTA), Atari, HMV, Intel, and Ubisoft. Among the events that are gonna be held there, theres a few that is quite interesting which is the British Academy Video Games Award, 25th Annual Golden Joystick Awards, Designing & Developing Effective Serious Games Show-case, and Eyes on the Game (not Eyes of a Gamer ya). Gamers that have the chance to be there will surely have a blast. For more info, visit the website here. Before I end this, below is a trailer of the London Games Festival and it is indeed an eye-catching trailer.

If you take a look at the predictions here, done by PinkPriestess and eXp|Gosu, they gave their opinions about the teams participating and who will win. Its quite interesting and I decide to make my own predictions too.

MYM.Dota vs Excello
Antabax predicts: MYM without Merlini is still dominating their group and they got qualified for the first round with ease while Excello, winning 3 out of 4 games, lost to BTB, an underdog team. Overall, MYM's skill and teamwork is far better than Excello so I guess MYM is the winner here but it should be a tough match.

Hard Team vs Defective Gaming
Antabax predicts: Both teams have equal score, 3 wins and 1 lose. Its hard to tell which team is better but I recognize Hard Team better than Defective Gaming based on past matches. I will go with Hard Team for this match.

Emazing Gaming vs Red Bear
Antabax predicts: eMg, which rather have no luck at all last time, is now a better team and they just won a LAN tournament and with a win against sP, you might say that they are at their best now. Red Bear, honestly, I've never heard of them before. I rarely watch replay because my time is spent on playing Dota, Lineage, work, and blogging. So my instinct tells me that eMg will win this.

sP[Palit]Kow3 vs Ks (Malaysia)
Antabax predicts: sP is a strong team with good skills and teamwork but I got to have some national spirit here. Ks (KingSurf) is not bad at all. They just won the GCC Malaysia tournament beating some good teams such as Cybertime`G and W4SI. Their reputation here in Malaysia is quite known. So, what I can say here is good luck to Ks and may the force be with you.

Back to Basics vs SK Gaming
Antabax predicts: Although BtB records in the group stage is very impressive, 4-0, I dont think they can win against SK. Furthermore, Loda is back and if Bogdan is playing, it should be no problem for SK provided that SK dont do a lot of mistakes.

Team Q vs ieS Virtual Gaming
Antabax predicts: Team Q have a good reputation and their teamwork is getting better judging by their replays. Although ieS is quite strong, Team Q should have no problem on winning this.

Xero Skill vs Stars VD
Antabax predicts: No doubt, XsK is the better team in this match. They practice like their is no tomorrow and with a 4-0 record, it has really paid off. But, Stars VD is no doubt good and I bet they can upset XsK this time. Let see what happen, my pick is Stars VD.

Virtus.Pro vs Team hi2u
There is a clear winner here. Everyone knows that VP is one of the most powerful team for Dota. Eventhough hi2u is among the best in America, there is no doubt that they will have a hard time fighting VP. Though qualifying for the playoffs is not an easy task, hi2u did it and they deserved the credit but against VP, this is just not their league in my opinion. Let just see what happen. Its hard for VP to lose here.

Thats my prediction for the coming Playoffs. Its all based on my opinion only. Let see how many guesses I got correct. Anyway, good luck to Ks in their match against sP[Palit]Kow3.

Nintendo's Girl Blogger got BBQed

written by Antabax | 5:26:00 PM | | 8 comments »

Jessica Zanner, one of Nintendo America's staff, was fired. The reason ? Because she have a personal blog and spend some of her time blogging. Thought blogging is not an issue actually, the main cause of her getting fired is, yeap, bitching about the staffs especially the boss. There are also a lot of cases like this for example, a programmer at Google got fired because he/she bitch about work (I bet he/she must be the only staff who hate Google, I though working at Google is a dream come true ?). Another case is related to Microsoft. A temp worker got fired in 2003 because he posted a picture of several Macs arriving at Microsoft's offices in his blog.

So after this, I hope other bloggers will post carefully, and if you feel like bitching about your boss or work in your personal blog, better think twice. Zanner's blog, Inexcusable Behavior, is located here.

PS: The picture is not her by the way !

Wii 2nd, Halo 3 39th.

written by Antabax | 11:42:00 AM | | 2 comments »

Still remember my other post about the 'Nascar' thingy ? The results are out. Nintendo Wii's Ford finished 2nd and Microsoft Xbox Halo 3's Dodge managed to grab the 39th spot. Lol ? Apparently, the car didnt even manage to finish the 400 laps. The Dodge's engine got blowned around the 306th lap and this is the sixth time this year.

" Its the people that makes the car or is it the sponsors ? "
